Ksenia Ocheredko or Xenia Oche was discovered after the filming of a television show about models in Vladivostok, her hometown. After relocating to Barcelona, Spain modeling became her full-time career. Ksenia walked in Spanish and Italian fashion weeks and worked for brands such as L’Oreal and Nestle, successfully combining fashion and commercial aspects of modeling. Getting signed with a New York based agency led her to America and brought the model clients such as Karl Lagerfeld, Marni and Stuart Weitzman. “I am very grateful for all the amazing opportunities and making all my dreams come true.”, – says Ksenia about her life in New York City. Ksenia is indeed on the top of the industry and model’s works right now can be seen in all major international publications: “I love being busy. I am proud I get to work with the most distinguished companies and talented people all over the world.”
- What is the most exciting thing about modeling?
I really enjoy being a part of the process of creating a new project. I get inspired by other people in the industry, new decisions, ideas. Every team’s vision is unique and unrepeatable, fashion is about new trends that keep changing all the time.
- How did you decide to become a model?
I have been always attracted by modeling world but it really happened for me after filming a tv-show about models back in Vladivostok (Russian analog of American Next Top Model). I started receiving more job offers in local market and in Asia, and eventually moved to Europe where I had a chance to work with some really cool companies. The most exciting step for me was going to America to continue my career.
- What are some of the most unforgettable moments?
My first New York fashion week. It has always been my dream to walk this runway and it came true! Also, the industry is all about people who work in it. I had a chance to closely work with amazing shoe designer Stuart Weitzman, I met top model Camille Rowe when shooting for Dior Unexpected and I have walked the same runway with Irina Shayk during Barcelona Bridal week.
- What are the challenges?
There are plenty, like in any other career. The most important is to continue moving forward and stay motivated.
- Your dream job?
I like to perform various roles, depending on the brand requirements. I like shooting on locations and unusual destinations when the challenge is to convey the art director’s or stylist’s concept to the viewer, at the same time having enough flexibility to bring in my own perceptions of the situation, this is when I can fully express myself. Working with camera is what I really enjoy doing.
