Son Jung Wan presented her Ready to Wear Fall Winter 2020 collection this New York Fashion Week at Spring Studios, strictly inspired by the 1950’s. The decade’s colorful aura and structured silhouettes paved their through the catwalk, reminding us what vintage fashion truly means. Textured textiles and voluminous shapes worked in harmony to illustrate this seductive, captivating decade most of us never got the chance to witness.
To add to what Son Jung Wan does best, these dated inspirations were met with a modern twist, giving everyone a chance to experience the 1950’s in the year 2020. The designer’s in-depth understanding of textiles, seaming and draping was proven to be exquisite, evident across the her choice in pairings and color. From her color palette to construction, Son Jung Wan managed to stay within this year’s trends and still tie in a glimpse from the past. Amongst many of the monochromatic looks, there wasn’t one outfit where the decade wasn’t illustrated throughout its silhouette and design composition. Impeccably coordinated, Son Jung Wan had outdone herself in this season’s show, gaining the adoration from attendees across the studio.
