Sam McKnight Will Receives Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at Fashion Awards 2019

Sam McKnight will obtain the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at the fashion Awards 2019, on Monday, December 2nd, taking place at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

The Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator recognizes the very best innovators and creatives in fashion, celebrating invaluable contributions that have changed the entire fashion landscape. The Award has brought designers’ creations to life and helped create worlds within brands. Their passion has attracted a tremendous amount of fans and their incredible body of work has already left an indelible mark on the entire industry. Previous winners of the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator include Mert & Marcus, Pat McGrath, Nick Knight OBE, Edward Enninful OBE, Lady Amanda Harlech, and Professor Louise Wilson OBE to name only a few.

Commemorated for his priceless contribution to the fashion industry, his exceptional effort in converting the role of the session stylist within the fashion industry and his unique capability to create cutting-edge and glamorous appears.

Including a boisterous career consisting of approximately 50 years in design, incorporating catwalks, article, and promoting efforts, the praised hairdresser Sam McKnight has helped form across the world photographs of prestigious brands, for instance, Balmain, Burberry, Chanel, Fendi, Tom Ford, and Vivienne Westwood. throughout his astonishing career, McKnight made iconographic photographs with a portion of the world‘s most well-known photographic artists which include Craig McDean, Irving Penn and Nick Knight. An everyday supporter of British and international Vogues, I-D, Harper’s Bazaar, and vanity fair, his career further includes styling individual appearances, honorary pathway events, and publications for exquisite VIPs such as Cate Blanchett, Emilia Clarke, Kate Moss, Princess Diana, and Uma Thurman.

McKnight began in the early Seventies where he secured a position for one of the most prestigious salons in London, Molton Brown. While working in London, McKnight was acquainted with design magazine proofreader Liz Tilberis and beautician Lucinda Chambers, who were instrumental in contracting him for prominent article shoots. His dedicated work and commitment to the business lead to his first publication shoot with British Vogue in 1977. Presently, McKnight has built a long-standing working relationship with the magazine, styling hair for models and famous people for more than 100 spreads. McKnight has built a career direction and inspired the next generation of upcoming talented hairstylists to follow in his footsteps.

McKnight has won numerous industry awards and participated in various exhibitions that recognize his unique and enduring talent. June 2017 McKnight launched a range of hair products by the same name, Hair by Sam McKnight, in Liberty of London.

The Fashion Awards, the main fundraiser for the British Fashion Council’s charitable and talent support work. The BFC is a non-profit organization focused on promoting excellence in British fashion and supporting the future pipeline of creative talent. In 2018, they raised over £2.3 million for its charities and business support initiatives out of which £1.1 million will be allocated directly to scholars and designer businesses with the remaining monies building an endowment to secure support for future generations.
