FINALLY!!! An alternative to leather, petroleum-based textiles

Making its entrance is Piñatex, & we couldn’t be any more excited!!! It is NOT just a textile, but a new material for a place that is shifting to a more eco-conscientious world. Piñatex by Ananas Anam is a plant-based, non-woven material made from pineapple leaf fiber which may be used as an alternative to unnecessary, inhumane leather and quickly becoming outdated petroleum-based textiles.

Beginning in the Philippines, a by-product of the pre-existing agriculture industry, are collected. The pineapple leaves are processed to extract the fibers and these are then created into a non-woven layer. It is then transported to Spain, where it is finished into Piñatex and distributed worldwide. Ananas Anam’s home base is located in London, UK.

Piñatex was developed as a natural based non-woven material that can be used as a sustainable alternative to consumers by offering a better choice for a better future. No extra land, water or pesticides are required.
