Founder #TimesUp Tracee Ellis Ross Hosts Fashion Awards 2019

Award-winning American actress, CEO, and producer Tracee Ellis Ross will be hosting The Fashion Awards 2019

The Fashion Awards 2019 taking place on December  2nd at the Royal Albert Hall in London, and seen in attendance are designers, media, retailers, creatives, and other well-known business fashion industry leaders, to celebrate extraordinary creative fashion talent & raise funds for the British Fashion Council’s charitable and business support initiatives.

Tracee Ellis Ross is well known for her Golden Globe-winning role as Dr. Rainbow Johnson on the ABC comedy series black-ish and playing Joan Clayton on the long-running hit series Girlfriends. Having received numerous individual awards including, but not limited to winning the 2017 Golden Globe Award and four NAACP Image Awards. She is an Executive Producer on the ABC comedy series mixed-ish. Tracee recently ended production on the Focus Features comedy COVERS alongside Dakota Johnson, which is set for a May 2020 release.

Ross is known for her elegant taste and attracting fashion opportunities effortlessly. Whether she is gracing the Emmys red carpet in breathtaking one of a kind couture, or welcoming her 9 million-plus supporters on social media her daily life. She utilizes fashion to express her individuality and communicate with like-minded others.

Ross serves as the CEO and Founder of PATTERN —Launched in September, a haircare brand created specifically for the tightly-textured coiled masses. Immediately selling out of the of items within just one day of launching. The brand strongly supports empowering women and people of color organizations and programs. 

In April 2018, Ross, the first black woman & one of the most respected women of our generation opened the TED Conference,  with a powerful speech about the wisdom of women’s fury. Ross vocally & influentially advocates for a joyful culture of women’s rights, self-acceptance, inclusivity, and equality across multiple platforms. As one of the founders of the #TimesUp movement, Ross is actively involved in working towards the goal of creating safety and equality in the workplace.

The Fashion Awards is a fundraiser for the BFC’s charitable and talent support work. The BFC is a non-profit organization encouraging excellence in British fashion and supporting tomorrow’s future creative talent. Through various charitable initiatives concentrating on bolstering talent from bright-eyed newcomers to well-established brands. In 2018, the BFC raised over £2.3 million for its charities and business support initiatives, £1.1 million will be allocated directly to scholars and designer businesses with the remaining money creating funding to assure support for future generations.
