Anna Sui’s SS20 NYFW collection did not disappoint this season as the NYC designer always gives her signature designs a flashback to many of our favorite eras.
For SS20, Sui didn’t look to a particular era to transport us back to the past. Fashion illustrator, set and costume designer Lila de Nobili was the key to this season’s mood board. Nobili’s light drawing hand and airy gowns transpired into a chorus of etherial tunics, caftans and nighties in pale yellow, lilac and duck egg blue. Although still, the collection felt street-centric, keeping with some of today’s current trends. Fancy frocks were paired with cloud-shaped specs, neon laced walking boots and one look even being paired with a sugary pink chiffon utility vest. If there is one thing that stays true, Sui’s vision for femininity.
