What a great weekend it was. I had the privilege to check out the models during the castings for the fashion shows because I and my team prepped the models before they stepped out to go on their go-sees. The talent and beauty were incredible and I was dying to see how they can bring the swimwear to life. Because I got a preview of that the brands wanted, I knew the hair trends would be the “classic” messy hair, slick back and defiantly a wet look. I get the Ocean Drive Magazine sent to my salon every issue and my very own clients grace the cover of the magazine all the time, so without a doubt, the kick-off party of Miami Swim Week was going to be a success.
I was super impressed with how the designers were able to mix textures together so tastefully. I have a leopard print wall at my studio so I LOVED seeing so much leopard print on the runway. The use of nude tones mixed with a pop of color was done in a spectacular way. One of my favorite pieces from the night was from Agua De Coco, was a dark nude, kind of sand color, one-piece swimsuit. It had a belt across the waist that gave it such an elegant touch. I believe it is a statement piece that can work for everyone and not only models. Going back to the mixture of textures, there was an amazing two-piece bathing suit that had a see-thru shoulder piece that was just so chic. Needless to say, I was very impressed with what I saw and it kept me dying to see what was coming next. I’ll attach some of my favorite looks from the night, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Who I saw at Miami Swim Week 2019
Along with being chosen to be at the Ocean Drive Launch Party covering the event, Carol de Melo the correspondent of Vogue Brazil in Miami chose me to be one of the 20 influencers selected. Because of that, I was able to get an even closer look at all of the fashions and celebs at the event. I had the pleasure of meeting in person the Owner of the clothing line Agua de Coco. I have worked with his brand in the past with Thassia Naves for a campaign. As a fellow Brazilian, it was so good to meet someone who was able to bring his ideas to life and produce such an amazing show.
I arrived at the event with my good friend and fashion producer Renato Tolevi. By my side were some of my favorite fashion bloggers in South Florida, one of them was Andrea Salazar. She has amazing energy and loved hearing what she thought about the fashions on the runway considering she owns one of the most trendy stores in Brickell City Center called Seta. Another person I saw that knows everything about fashion is Claudia Zuleta. She is a well-respected celebrity stylist and designer in Miami. Claudia styles some of the most influential Latin speaking artists in Latin America. I also was with a digital creator Carolina Lindo. Because she loves creating fashion trends, it was good to see what she thought about seeing various prints on the runway. Those are just some of the people had the pleasure of spending time with during the fashion show. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to meet everyone but the show was filled with celebs dying to find out what the latest trends for the summer were going to be. It was a pleasure to be among them also giving my opinion on the hottest looks for Summer 2019. below are some pictures with my favorite girls.
