Sustainable handbag designer Kent Stetson recently launched the latest spring collection for his eponymous brand, complete with 70s-inspired disco balls and portraits of furry friends.
Kent Stetson, a line known for its stylishly posh crossbody clutches, graced the arms of New York Fashion Week influencers and partygoers earlier this season with its twists on classic trends. Stetson himself drew inspiration from social media and individuals’ aesthetics for his newest handbags. “As I scroll though my Instagram feed, plan my travels, satisfy my love for cooking, and move about the world there are things that just stick in my mind as inspiration for new designs,” Stetson explained. “I like to think that we can adapt our signature look to appeal to new clients and help our collectors fill out the range of looks they can create with my designs.”
The latest collection embraces the fun of fashion, from neon slogans to avant-garde styles. Standout pieces include the Scratch and Stud black clutch with oversized white etchings and a studded trim, and the Deco Luxe classic navy and brown geometric prism patterned bag.
Stetson also expanded the brand’s pet-inspired looks, adding more dogs–and even a few felines– to the new collection. Kent Stetson handbags are among the few accessory brands to be sold at the newly-opened American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog in Manhattan. Stetson was also an official vendor at the Westminster Dog Show, prompting the wider collection of dog breeds for the brand. Stetson even offers customized clutches for people who are “truly obsessed” with their pets, featuring styles with the owners’ favorite photograph of their dog or cat.
Stetson’s tailored approach to design is what makes his handbags feel so personal both to customer and creator. “Ultimately I think when I do my best work is when someone feels as though one of my pieces was made just for them, so there are is no shortage of ideas for future designs.”
Thanks to the latest Kent Stetson collection, it finally does feel like spring.
