Italy has a history of creation from the arts to fashion, one of the global leaders in cosmetics with more than 60% of all cosmetics sold worldwide made in Italy.
Beauty Made in Italy serves as a launch pad for Italian beauty brands entering the United States and is divided into three different tracks for companies based on their experience in the US market: a Business Incubator for companies who are not yet distributed in the US, designed to educate early-stage companies Brand Accelerator to guide larger, high-potential brands with existing US distribution and, an Italian Beauty Council made up of beauty industry leaders and heritage brands who want to help guide the conversation and narrative on Italian beauty.
Founded in 2017 The Italian Beauty Council was developed as a cooperative effort of the Italian Trade Commission and Cosmetica Italia, designed to be a platform for advancement, promote the excellence, awareness, and availability of Italian beauty products and brands to the US market and consumers.
With a wide range of brands coming to the forefront on a regular basis both in the USA and in their home country of Italy, all of this being incorporated into the various fashion weeks and shows making the demand for products even wider with the addition of fashion culture to the beauty aspect.
With the cultural diversity that Italy brings to the table with its stunning landscapes, beautiful architecture and of course some of the worlds leading designers, it’s hardly surprising that the cosmetics industry flocks there for some of the most beautiful products available on the world market and with a consumer savvy USA buying up brands for their heritage and quality.
Each year, corporate and consumer demand for Italian-made beauty products continues to grow. In 2017, Italian beauty exports to the United States increased by 5.2% percent over the previous year – totaling over $785M, making Italy the sixth largest exporter of beauty products to the USA.
