Creating dream home office with the help of Feng Shui that inspires Creativity

Creating a motivating and inspiring environment for your home office is crucial for your productivity, creativity and all-around effectiveness. Using some of the principles of Feng Shui art can be very helpful. Feng Shui is widely used to harmonize individuals with their surroundings and it will embrace the creativity of your workplace that you need.

According to Feng Shui, plants and greenery are great stress relievers. Decorate your workstation with plants to create a relaxing, calming and inspiring atmosphere. Adding greenery will embrace the natural flow to your space and will instantly give it a more refreshing and sophisticated look. Just make sure don’t choose high-maintenance plants, as you want to stay focused on the job.  The increased oxygen level will serve as a great energy and creativity boost.

Colors and décor

Blank and basic walls will not evoke the motivation and creativity that you are after. Avoid this uninspiring look that will hold you down and surround yourself with art that speaks success, strength and confidence. Add photos or images with strong symbolization, like motivational quotes and prints, or try decorating your office with Zen garden or a nice jute rug for an additional touch of tranquility and peace. If you have children use their pictures to keep focused and motivated. It’s well known that colors have a strong impact on our psychological state and Feng Shui experts strongly believe that earthy tones will enable the energy to flow uninterruptedly which will embrace the productivity in your home office that you seek. Additionally, use colors that have a calming and relaxing effect like blue and soft green.

Natural light and fresh air

Open your windows and let the sunshine in. Sunlight and fresh air are good for our well-being, as they bring the balance between serotonin and melatonin levels in our body. Increased oxygen level will keep you well energized during the day as well. If you position your working desk the right way, you can avoid having an artificial light source in your office and it will have a strong impact on your creativity and all-around mood. Natural light is much more suitable of our eyes so try using it as much as possible.

Separate private from professional

Home office is a space of work and productivity and separating your home office from your personal life is much advised. Pick a room that is far from your bedroom, nursery and kitchen as they might be a distraction to your workflow. Staying focused and devoting interrupted time for work is vital for achieving tasks and your work plans.

Home office is not the space to use as a storage. A well-organized home office will not only look professional, it will relieve you from anxiety and stress as well. Stepping into clean office will make you feel more determined and motivated for your daily tasks, so implement some storage ideas that will give your office a clean and organized look. According to Feng Shui, overwhelmed and cluttered spaces are distracting and interrupt the flow of the room, so make sure you work in a well-organized and clear space. It’s a great idea to free up some time for decluttering at least once a week.

Power position

Feng Shui principles are all about positioning items the correct way, so place your working desk in a power position for maximum productivity. You should position your desk facing the door, but not directly in front of it so you don’t interfere with the energy that flows inside as they open. The best space to place your desk is diagonally from the door, as you will be able to see the whole room. Avoid looking at the wall, but if you must, decorate it with the right colors, artwork and imagery.

Designing and creating a comfortable, motivating and inspiring workstation can be very challenging as you will need a space that will serve as a place of work, productivity and success. Thankfully, implementing the principles of an ancient art of Feng Shui can be very helpful in effort to achieve that.
