Taking a new look at the Viking fantasy genre, the team behind Skarnen are opening up the doors to a potentially huge project with this foray into the dark fantasy realms. Built around familial drama and a strength of loyalty and a promise to a tribe.
This is a film about a prince trying to live up to his father’s wishes in a land far from his home during the Dark Ages.
Edrig, a young prince, leads his men on a pilgrimage to find a cure for a mysterious sickness that is sweeping through their homeland. They carry with them the body of Edrig’s father, the King, unable to bury him so far from his home.
Edging closer to hysteria and violence, the group are driven to the edge for the sake of their kith and kin.
One of the standouts of this project is sheer savvy of the team behind it, they are already seeing feedback from various professional arenas including the screencraft film fund. With a major coup in the wings, with meetings having taken place with The House of iKons designer Sigrun Bjork Olafsdottir whos designs are inspired by the Viking look, she is in talks to join the team providing the costume for one of the lead characters, taking this from a small project to designer showpiece and potentially more with this incredibly well planned and structured film.
In Scotland, they will also be joining forces with leading wardrobe manager and reenactor Shona Boudica Blair of Boudica’s closet. A well known and respected wardrobe mistress on the indie film circuit. With talks underway to join the Streamlette distribution family on completion of the film.
