Days of our Lives Actress is not only rising in her career but is using her platform to support earth conservation.

Victoria Konefal, who plays Ciara Brady on NBC’s Days of our Lives has a passion for acting and for supporting humanitarian organizations. She grew up in New York City where she attended LaGuardia High School.

“People from all over the country would fly into New York just to audition with the school so I was really blessed to be living in New York. That made it a lot easier on me… I was always a very creative kid and I needed to be in an educational environment that helped me grow instead of stifled my individuality and turned down my creative side,” Konefal says. “I wish that I went to high school again now as an adult because I feel I would have absorbed a lot more information… But I learned an incredible amount. I’ve taken away so much and it does help me every single day.”

Her love for acting didn’t start in high school it actually started when she attended a school field trip to an off-broadway show of The Hobbit when she was just 7-years-old.

“My mom was chaperoning me. Thank God she was there because I was so captivated by the performance that at some point I wanted to go up on stage. So she grabbed me and sat me back down… I said, ‘mom, I want to do that,'” Konefal says. “We found the director afterward and asked if I could audition. He did, he let me audition for The South Pacific and I booked the role; I was with them for seven years.”

After she graduated high school she attended one semester of college but then booked a film which took her to Los Angeles. She then booked a guest role on Modern Family which started her career. Since then, her role on Days of our Lives has really grown her experience and taught her life lessons.

“Everything in life is a learning experience and you choose to take what you want from it. I like to be like a sponge when I go on set. I just absorb everything, life experiences, acting tips,” Konefal says. “I want to learn from other people’s mistakes and accept their wisdom.”

Because of her job she has had opportunities to attend humanitarian events and support humanitarian organizations. She has attended events including Heal the Bay, American Red Cross The Humanitarian Celebration, Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Jubilee Gala and supports organizations like Wildlife Conservation Network, Greenpeace USA, and Environmental Defense Fund.

“Heal the Bay is my favorite organization. It’s an organization set in Los Angeles and the whole mission is to eliminate plastic waste from the ocean,” Konefal says. “We’re going through so many tribulations in society and it’s like well when you step back from it, Mother Earth and the world is the one thing that we all have in common and that’s the one thing that we need to be working on collectively to help save. I really love the Heal the Bay Organization. I love all the work that they’re doing and I plan on continuing to support as many environmental conservation charities as possible.”

It’s not just her love for acting that started at a young age but also her love for conservation. Acting gave her the ability to make more than one dream come true.

“I always wanted to help but I just didn’t know how. Now that I am an actress and I’m put in this position where I can go to all of these things. I’m so blessed and I’m pushing to get through the door because all I want to do is be there and show my support,” Konefal says. “It’s really great to be in a position where I have a voice and I get to use my voice to help.”

Because of events, organizations and her filming schedule she doesn’t have a huge amount of free time. She tries to do as much as she can when she’s not filming. One of those things is kick boxing and she would love to combine this with a role.

“I’ve always wanted to be an athletic female role. Like Million Dollar Baby or Margot Robbie in I, Tonya,” Konefal says. “A woman who has a passion for some kind of sport and that whole warm story of her winning or something at the end. I don’t know but I really want to be a boxer or something like that.”

Konefal can be seen on Days of our Lives and has an upcoming role in Fog City as a villain.
