Internationally-acclaimed artist Bettina Werner exhibited her latest gallery collection “The Enlivening Red Velvet Heart” at the ABXY Gallery in Manhattan. Dubbed the Salt Queen, Werner gained recognition for pioneering the use of salt in high art through the invention of the Colored Texturized Salt Technique of salt crystals. Milan-based Werner has been featured in a variety of museums around the world such as the Whitney Museum, the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, and the Portofino Museum in Italy.
“Salt has the essence of cleansing and healing,” artist Werner said. “At the cellular level, the balances of salt are essential to life. Creating with each single salt crystal is an intimate experience of magic and mystical movement that captures my soul and empowers me.”

Werner’s Valentines Day themed gallery display featured salt crystal paintings of hearts, unique phrases such as “Shame On You”, and Dalmation paintings inspired by the artist’s beloved dog, Tibino. The ABXY Gallery is located on Clinton Street in Lower East Side Manhattan.
