Have you had that nagging feeling lip something is just “missing” from your face? Like your makeup isn’t doing all that it can for you? Like your lips could be… I dunno – a bit “lippier”? Well, we took the plunge and found the best ways to accentuate your killer kissers – check out your lip shape below for tips on accentuating your marvelous mouth with lipstick!

CUPID’S BOW

Nice, clean lines will really accentuate the shape of your lips – so stick to lipstick
that has staying power. One trick is to use your cupid’s bow as a starting point to apply your lipstick. Follow the line from the highest tip of each side of your bow to create an ‘X’ and fill in the rest of your lips from there. Lipsticks like Kat von D‘s Liquid Love are going to be your new best friend when it comes to lip love; check out shades like Outlaw, Vampira, and Crucifix.

THINNER LIPS

Thinner lips are extremely hot in Korean and Japanese fashion right now. Take a leaf out of their stylebooks and keep your lips hydrated, nourished, and stick to glossier formulas. A good trick is to concentrate color in the center of your lips and to avoid harsh lines that will make your lips appear more stern or flat. Start by applying lipstick in the center of your upper and lower lips, and use your ring finger coated with lip balm to blend the lipstick out to (and past) your natural lip line. Try Tarte’s LipSurgence Lip Tint in any color – the hydration is downright luxurious, and the shades are universally flattering!

FULL LIPS

Fetching Full lips look fabulous in many colors. From Rich Reds to Bronzey Browns, full lips tend to look fantastic in just about everything! Satin finishes tend to show off full lips
best – so try out something like Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Chestnut, Mulberry, or Plum Scene to really round out your full-figured lips.

TOP HEAVY

If you’ve got a Perfect 10 Top Lip, be sure to treat that beauty right with extra nourishing
lipsticks. If you are looking to make your lips more “even” – try wearing two slightly different shades of lipstick! On your top lip, wear a color 1-2 shades darker than on your bottom lip or add a tiny touch of foundation to your bottom lip after applying lipstick to subtly lighten it – this creates an optical illusion that the lower lip is slightly larger and brighter. Deep and Bold colors, as well as cool neutrals, will look extra fantastic on
your gorgeous lips! Think Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Matte lipstick in colors like Buff, Rum Punch, and Rosewood.

BOTTOM HEAVY

If your bottom lip is a bit fuller than your top lip – many of the same recommendations apply as with full lips and top-heavy lips. Buxom bottom lips need to be extra careful to avoid dryness to avoid cracking and dead skin – especially in winter! Bright, glossy jewel-tones will be the most striking. Try Braised, Candied, or Mix from BITE Beauty’s new Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick collection for Bodacious Bottom Lip perfection!

We hope these tips will help you get the lips of your dreams! Which of these lovely lipsticks are you most excited to try?
