Does anyone else have a closet full of clothes, but feel like you have nothing to wear?
*raises both hands in shame*
As Spring comes to a close, there is still time for us to declutter our closets. However, we might want to consider taking our spring cleaning a step further. By diligently removing those unflattering pieces that we never reach for, there will be more room for clothes that you love and will get more use out of. In a nutshell, a capsule or edited wardrobe is a collection of high-quality pieces that you can mix and match to wear repeatedly throughout the seasons. Investing in a capsule wardrobe that embodies your personal style will not only make getting dressed simpler, but it will save you money because you will learn to buy only what you need. An edited wardrobe is not a new idea, but VETTA Capsule has reinvented its meaning by creating responsible fashionable designs.
VETTA Capsule is a sustainable and ethical company that creates mini capsules for your wardrobe. The co-founders, Cara and Vanessa initated their campaign on KickStarter. Each capsule is made up of 5 versatile pieces that can be worn up to 30 different ways. VETTA substitutes zippers and buttons for subtle elastic to ensure that all of their clothes fit every body type comfortably. They currently have three capsules that are defining what an edited sustainable wardrobe should look like. The Original Capsule, The Romantic Capsule, and The Classic Capsule. The pieces I find most intriguing due to its strategic versatility is two-fold. One is that The Cropped Blouse, and The Bell Sleeve Dress can both be worn front and back. Two, The Dress + The Slip, and The Two Piece Dress can be worn together or separate. VETTA is a luxury brand, but the unique, stylish and eco-friendly options are well worth the price tag.
The manufacturing takes place in the United States at an ethical family-run factory. They use deadstock, which is the leftover fabric from the landfill, as well as eco-friendly biodegradable materials to create each and every piece. VETTA has been making a necessary statement within the fashion industry and I’m here for it. This versatile, responsible, and sustainable modern company is another example of how being conscious of the environment always outweighs the costs in the long run.
