Electronic Dance Music producers never cease to amaze us. Eric Prydz, the Swedish DJ and producer based in Los Angeles who has successfully captured the dance music world with his technique in house and trance music. With millions of fans who don his concerts by the herds, one fan stood out to Prydz.
James Lillo captured the attention and the hearts of the dance music community. Lillo, who wrote on a Reddit post that he purchased tickets for Prydz’s EPIC 5.0 show next year. In this post, he then stated that he had terminal cancer. Because of the stage of his cancer, he wrote that he might not live to see his “favorite producer in the world” one last time.
When the news of Lillo reached Prydz, his team offered to fly Lillo out to LA for a personal show, with all ticket sales going to a charity of his choice. As we share this now, Prydz himself informed the edm community of Lillo’s passing on Monday November 28th. Lillo’s family has given the blessing for the show to go on in his name. “His battle and story have affected me deeply, and now more than ever I want to play the event to raise money for the charity that James has chosen and honor his memory,” Prydz wrote.
All ticket sales will be donated to the Cancer Research Institute, as James had requested prior to his passing. There will be two charity shows, with the first taking place on December 17 and the second on the 18th, both at Sound Nightclub in Hollywood. Tickets for the first night are sold out and may still available for the second night, please visit here for purchasing information.
For those who can’t make it but would still like to donate, a page has been set up on the Cancer Research Institute website in Lillo’s name.
