The founders are huge advocates of preserving our planet by reducing greenhouse gases, so what better way to do that then by rethinking plastic.

Founder Jeremy Lang realized that the average person replaces their “smartphones every 18 months but the plastic smartphone cases would last hundreds of years,” so he came up with flaxstic the main component of Pela Case. They took a waste product and reused it to make smartphone cases made from plants. Pretty smart if you ask us! Pela’s smartphone cases take only 6 months to 3 years for it to biodegrade.

Another neat perk is that each case has a different speckle pattern due to the flaxseed fibers so no two cases are ever the same. They offer phone cases for iPhones as well as Androids. The company also donates 1% of their proceeds to environmental non-profit organizations.

The brand hopes to continue to promote others in taking care of the planet for future generations to come.
