Isle of Dogs, this new stop-motion animated film was written and directed by Wes Anderson and features an ensemble voice cast, including Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, and Bob Balaban.

Bill Murray, who voices the Boss canine joins this incredible, loving cast of talented actors who use their voices to tell a story of when, by executive decree all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to trash island across the water from a Japanese city so saturated with dogs that they are all being deported by an evil mayor. It is up to 12-year-old Atari, who sets off alone in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots to save the existence of dogs. Along the way, he gets help from of a pack of newly-found mutt friends and he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the dog population.

What this story tells us is that this tale of abandoned dogs taking on a corrupt human government can happen in a sense. We can all help save canines by making sure all homeless dogs are spayed and neutered and even adopted into loving homes.

Isle of Dogs opens March 23rd nationwide
