Miranda Kerr: Emotional healing
Like any married woman going through a divorce, Miranda Kerr was devastated when her marriage to Orlando Bloom ended. To help her cope with the situation, Kerr turned to yoga and meditation, which allowed her to remain in control of herself.
“Every thought you have affects your reality and only you have control of your mind,” Kerr explained, and then added, “What I have found is that everything you need, all of the answers are deep inside of you. Sit with yourself, take a few breaths and get close to your spirit.”
She eventually moved on from her failed relationship, and married Snapchat co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel. Interestingly, she started her wedding day this time with a yoga session.
Lady Gaga: Recovery from a serious health condition
Lady Gaga has been open about her personal struggles, including suffering from fibromyalgia. In fact, she was forced to cancel parts of her concert tour because of chronic pain issues. DoYouYoga revealed that yoga helped put the singer on the road to recovery. She also did yoga and Pilates to get back into shape following hip surgery, as well as to manage the chronic pain brought about by her condition.
Heather Graham: Stress relief and youthfulness
With her youthful appearance, it’s hard to believe that Heather Graham is already on her way to her 50s. One of her ‘elixirs’ is yoga. YogaTime reported that the actress has spent about four hours every day for the past 30 years practicing yoga. In show business, looks are a vital asset, so her yoga has contributed to her long career in the industry. Besides clinching a Foxy Bingo endorsement deal last year, Graham continues to welcome a ton of acting roles in mainstream and indie projects, and she even got the chance to make Half-Magic, a movie she wrote and directed.
But aside from helping her maintain her beauty, Graham says that she practices yoga because it helps her relax. Levine has gone on record to say that he believes yoga is the key to his success as a performer, explaining that it helped him improve his focus and make good career decisions. He also credits the practice for helping him juggle different engagements. ‘Without yoga and working out, I’d be a mess,’ he candidly said to Men’s Fitness in an interview.
