Designer TELFAR has now established his collaboration with America’s first fast-food hamburger chain, White Castle. To celebrate the association, he hosted an epic party at The Well in New York, NY on the 16th of October. Over thousands of TELFAR’s fans had shown up with a continuous commitment to his past events and afterparties, ultimately making him one of the legends of New York’s nightlife. The designer had several DJs appear such as Venus X, Total Freedom, and Joseph Labeija, as well as a duet by Dev Hynes and Ian Isiah. He also made sure the crowd had their last revelation at the end of the show, by inviting artists Cam’ron and Akinyele for a surprise performance.
At the event, a limited edition unisex Uniform and Capsule Collection was debuted with White Castle, featuring nine streetwear staples with the graphic elite logo. The pieces were designed to celebrate the cities in which White Castle praise the most: The Bronx, Bushwick, LeFrak City Queens, East New York, and Harlem. Many of the designs follow streetwear models found in the majority of the cities, making this line very significant and exclusive to both the franchise and the designer. TELFAR has also included a ZIP-CODE shirt style that can only be found at LeFrak City, Queen’s White Castle location, which can be purchased off their menu. White Castle plans to release 6 more ZIP-CODE shirt styles for the national locations in Detroit, St. Louis, Chicago, and Columbus, Ohio. The pieces of the collection are now available for purchase at Shop.Telfar.Net.
This enormous celebration is nothing new for the designer. Telfar Clemens had launched his first eponymous line back in 2005 at just the age of 18. The unisex prodigy has developed his own unique brand, ultimately a fashion democracy, by incorporating culture, music, nightlife, tech, and his own artistic aesthetic. He manages to deconstruct what he perceives as an American style, and re-imagining every aspect to create something new and unique to contemporary fashion. Telfar has really defined the future of fashion with his ongoing vision.
