Brushwork cosmetics

Make up brushes are essential tools to an artist.  Something about a well-constructed make up brush just brings joy to the heart of anyone who loves make up.  In the age of social media there is a brush line to suit every pocket and a few that without question are in the top tier for quality and craftsmanship.

Brushwork cosmetics fall into that top tier, but here is the real eye opener about this range: they are affordable.  When people talk about heritage brands or professional craftsmanship your mind immediately thinks expensive.  Not so with this company.

Combining some of the most coveted techniques in brush making, Japanese artisan techniques in bristle laying, with sustainably resourced materials, just makes this brand a must have.   Already established in South East Asia with a huge cult following in the blogger community, they are something of a secret to the western market.

Having personally used the brushes and examined in detail, it’s amazing to me that they are so cost effective, beautifully crafted and still have that luxurious feel that makes them a top tier brand.

Starting with their original and innovative foundation brush range: different brushes for different types of foundation, they now offer collections so you can own a piece of the brand on your terms.

From a makeup artist perspective, these are amongst the most beautiful brushes in my working kit and I am not afraid to use them.  Beautifully crafted with care and attention to detail, these beautiful navy blue handled brushes are triple coated to protect the handle and feral, each piece of wood is sourced from an organic, sustained farm.  The feral are a copper aluminium mix to give longevity and rust proofing, whilst the real hair is sourced from the best cruelty free sources, it should be noted that the synthetics are amongst the finest I have come across in my career.

Starting at a reasonable $15 for an eye brush to $85 for a five piece kit, delivery is slow however the company is looking for other options at this time, for $12 it is again a reasonable price to pay for something of this quality.

Brushwork cosmetics is in my opinion of the best premium ranges out there in their price bracket and worth the investment.
