Guo Pei presented her fourth Haute Couture collection entitled Guo Pei x Caroline Scheufele during Paris Fashion Week. Between Pei’s designs and Chopard, the Swiss jewelry line that co-president and artistic designer Scheufele was overseeing, this collection shone a literal golden light on simpler times in haute couture fashion. Pei has been blossoming in the fashion industry due to her time-consuming intricate embroidery and beading designs that stem from traditional Chinese fashion. One of her unique creations includes the infamous golden-yellow dress that Rihanna wore to the 2015 Met Gala.
Alerting between form-fitting mermaid and loose-fitting ballroom styles, the high-shine metallic material and embroidered gowns made a stunning statement. The intimate focus on simplicity and elegance for this upcoming season is verification that sometimes keeping it simple is well worth it.
