Galia Lahav Couture SS18 at Paris Fashion Week

The rare choice of location for one of the couture shows in Paris has been a successful and illustrious show. Included in the PFW calendar as a guest, Galia Lahav has introduced the industry to exquisite pieces in this SS18 show. Set in this historic Paris high school, the show was enclosed within the courtyard of the stately limestone building, surrounded by greenery, lurid lights and thumping electronic music. As for the pieces, they were to do die for.

Designers, Galia Lahav and Sharon Sever, claiming to use the sea as inspiration, led a collection of short, spicy cocktail dresses and sweeping gowns. The dark pieces still caught the eyes of the crowd as splashes of coral were kept throughout the collection, as well as reflecting sequins, elegant floral patterns and drapery. It was no doubt that these pieces were all apart of the same collection, all bold to the eye as they made their way down the court.
According to the designers, the idea was to “imitate the movements of the fish in deep waters,” Sever claimed after the show. Lahav added that they lived on the beach in Tel Aviv, adding to their reason for their choice of theme.
