RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017

Every May for over a century the eyes of the world have turned their attention to London’s SW3 for the much anticipated RHS Chelsea Flower Show which has 165,00 visitors, more than 60,000 plants, a 12,000 square foot pavilion, the list goes on and on. With Chelsea In Bloom having a Safari Theme this year, walking around the streets it is really not hard to tell that it is that time of year again, the whole of SW3 gets involved and it is fantastic to see!

Gardens at Chelsea push boundaries and open up a world of new possibilities, they get your senses racing, enrich you and elevate your own experience of gardening no matter how big or small. The fact of the matter is, if it appears at Chelsea everyone wants it! There are plant exhibitors to landscapers to designers, every one working around the clock to ensure perfection; having never been to Chelsea before, walking in for the first time took my breath away, in my eyes perfection was certainly achieved.

My day was filled with so many ‘firsts;’ wondering around the Great Pavilion which is home to well over one hundred plant exhibitors filled me with excitement. Everywhere I looked there was another exhibit which made me gasp, the atmosphere was actually rather romantic, waves of perfume from the flowers wafted through the air bringing different scents with every turn I took. What these exhibitors create is far beyond my imagination, how they do it, I do not know, but, it was an absolute pleasure to be there.

Join me on my day at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017 as I visit all the Show Gardens on Main Avenue, chat to designers about where their inspiration came from and what their challenges were, see sculptures, water fountains, real flower walls, explore Chelsea In Bloom where I stumble across hippos, elephants, even lions made of flowers and so much more!

I cannot wait for you to see what the world wide excitement is all about…
