Drunk Elephant has the classic story of a creator not finding a useable product and going ahead to create their own! Tiffany Masterson took the skincare of herself and her children into her own hands when she found out most products were full of toxic ingredients. She came up with the idea for a company that blacklists toxic ingredients and doesn’t even use fragrance. Instead, she lets the ingredients speak for themselves. We love that! The name Drunk Elephant comes from a fruit elephants eat in Africa that fall from Marula trees, and when eaten an elephant can become drunk. So funny!
I personally tested some of their products and found that my skin was brighter, less dry and overall healthier. I was able to try their Pekee and Juju soap bars, Lala Retro Whipped Cream Crème Fouette, C-Firma Day Serum, T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, and Lippe Lip Balm.
In regards to their Pekee and Juju soap bars, I used both as body soaps and face soaps and was surprised as how much I loved them! Sometimes soaps can leave a drying, filmy feeling on my skin, but these made it feel so soft, clean and fresh. This was definitely due to the fact that their bars promote moisture retention, I certainly noticed. Beside the feeling, I was pleased to know my skin was being well taken care of. The dry feeling means exactly that- I’m drying my skin out. So, knowing that my soft and smooth feeling meant happy skin made me pretty happy as well.
Their Lala Retro Whipped Cream Crème Fouette was the next product that was super awesome. This is meant to rehabilitate, brighten and firm skin plus it moisturizes over the course of a day. I really loved how light this moisturizer is especially used overnight (which is what I did). I typically wake up with dry skin, so having this to combat that was a huge help is making my skin much healthier. It’s best used with their night and/or day serums, which are equally as amazing!
Drunk Elephant’s C-Firma Day Serum has tons of vitamin C which is super helpful in brightening skin and firming it to combat aging. I have been using it every morning for a few months and it continues to brighten my skin. It’s very hydrating and fighting aging as early as possible is a hugely helpful. My skin is more prone to sunburns and this day serum even helps with UV damage, which is something important to me (and should be to everyone).
I love their T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum just as much! I have been using this every night before bed along with the Lala Retro Whipped Cream, and it has been helping my skin so much! I wake up way brighten and smoother skin. This serum combats aging as well, so that’s another huge plus. The night serum diminishes the appearance of pores and that has been one of my huge issues, so seeing those shrink has been amazing!
The last product I tried was their Lippe Lip Balm. It’s really moisturizing and volumizing. I tend to put this on throughout the day, and definitely try to put it on first thing in the morning and last thing before bed. It helps to not wake up with dry or chapped lips. Plus, Lippe promotes collagen which is another anti-aging perk! It has become my go to lip balm, for sure.
In trying these products, I absolutely loved them! I have been using them for a few months and have definitely seem many positive results. It’s even better than they’re cruelty-free, environmentally friendly, and free of toxic chemicals. It’s filled with the best ingredients that only benefit our skin.
