By saying Anna Sui has out done herself for her fall 2017 collection is an understatement. Every season we come to expect greatness from the designer who is known for her eclectic collections, which are always full of stark colors and prints.
For fall 2017, Sui was inspired by a esprit de corps, if you want to call it that, but the actual inspiration came from while reading about interior designer Elsie de Wolfe. One home in particular de Wolfe designed for Countess Dorothy di Frasso in Beverly Hills; to the fabulous parties she threw, gave way to this longing to be transported back to the era.
The collection showcased jewel-toned fabrics — crushed and panne velvet; satin devore; chinoiserie-printed jacquard, fringe, lace and beading. What would a runway collection be without her stellar selection of models? Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid? Sui has it all right as the models rocked the runway in velvet tracksuits with metallic side-stripes and ruffled dresses . There was a mix of every style from gothic, Victorian romance, Elizabethan lace ruffs and cuffs to a bit of funkiness.
Now THAT is a way to do fall.
