Douro valley in Portugal is known for being the first official wine designation in the world. It has its own micro-climate and because of that spring comes early to this Portuguese town. During March, visitors have the chance of seeing white and pink clouds in Douro. Douro is also home to River Douro, which runs for 897 kilometers. 112 of those kilometers separate Spain and Portugal. Wine tasting is a must in Douro and March is the perfect time to do so since the vineyards are not as crowded.

If you want more of a city life, Lisbon is the perfect city to visit in Portugal. Lisbon is Europe’s second oldest capital, after Athens, Greece. Lisbon offers a city vibe and sunsets next to the sea. It is also one of Europe’s least expensive capitals, making it very affordable for travelers to visit. Lisbon is not only perfect to visit in March, but year round as well. The Climate is not too hot and not too cold year round, even during the winter the temperature never drops below 50 degrees fahrenheit or 10 degrees celsius.
