What To Expect From Outside Lands 2016

Music fans, Trend Privè Magazine is back at it again, providing you with some of the best music festival coverage. Starting this weekend August 5-7, we’ll be at one of Northern California’s premier music festival in the city by bay, San Francisco. If you’re familiar with and plan on attending Outside Lands, you know this is one music festival in Norther California that you cannot miss as San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park is transformed into another world where the celebration of music, food, wine, beer, art and comedy take place.

We’re excited to bring you the experience in real time on FB Live, Periscope and Snapchat. Acts due to perform are: Miike Snow, Foals, J Cole, Radio Head, Zedd, Duran Duran and many more.

We have a little rundown on what to expect and how to plan to optimize your visit below:

Hotels:  Securing your hotel is one of the most important things to do on your list and Outside Lands and here are the top hotels listed on Outside Lands website to lay your head down each night after a day of music: Hotel Zetta San Francisco, Hotel Zeppelin , Hotel Abri, Joie de Vivre, Carvallo Point, Stanford Court.

Travel: Getting to city can be a bit of a hassle, but there are many ways to get there either by your own car, train, air or bus. AMTRAK has multiple stations inside the city, and the closest station stop to the park is the San Francisco Civic Center (SFV) which is a 17 minute drive. SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (SFO) is a 23 minute drive to the park, OAKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (OAK) is a 40 minute drive to the park and  SAN JOSE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (SJC) is a 60 minute drive to the park. GREENHOUSE BUS LINES, The Greyhound station stop in San Francisco is just a 19 minute drive to the park.

Because of the extremely limited parking inside the Park and in the surrounding neighborhoods, Outside Lands strongly encourages you to take public or alternate means of transportation. People with mobility disabilities should read the Access Info Guide regarding the most accessible way to enter the festival on the Outside Lands official site.

But, for your convenience, Outside Lands offers a pre-paid shuttle service from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in the heart of San Francisco to the south entrance of Outside Lands in Golden Gate Park. The shuttles are coach style buses that offer a comfortable ride to and from the festival each day. Shuttles begin running each day at 11AM and run continuously all day with limited coverage from 5-8PM. Last shuttle leaves the festival site at 11:30PM on Friday and Saturday and 11PM on Sunday. The cost of the 3-DAY Shuttle Pass is $48.00 and does not include admission to the festival. Ride share by Lyft is also available and new users, use code OUTSIDELANDS16 for $10 off each of your first two rides.

Dress: The weather is San Francisco can be very unpredictable and for your comfort, come prepared with a warm jacket for the cold evenings and possible daily fog. The weather forecast is as follows: Friday, partly cloudy with a high of 64 degrees, Saturday, partly cloudy with a high of 64 and Sunday, partly cloudy with a high of 66.
